Alot of trades try to stick to new work, pretty hard. Things get tight they leap right in to existing buildings. Even in new buildings toilets are used before they are hooked up. A friend of mine often sings to them on site, the basic song is "If I were any dumber, I would have been a plumber" but he goes on to proclaim he'd rather give a hummer than be a plumber & anything else that rhymes. Some of them get upset. I'd rather be in sanitation.
Occasionally problems are encountered with plumbers, was shown how to energize pipes & listen for the scream. Thats called trolling for plumbers along the ground fault path. It's most impolite, I rarely resort to that.
