| hydrated lime vs calcium carbonate

i'd really like to hear what anybody else has to say about this
RR says that he uses hydrated lime
as do 2 of the commercial companys he does some lab stuff for
bluehelix says calcium carbonate is the way to go
and from his recipies seems to be workmans choice
so lets hear it
what do you guys use
why, how much, and what have been your experiences
please post pics of the bags/brands if you can
