| As I am Me said...there have been plenty of guys who say that....only your chances of getting elected are very slim. Politics is still politics no matter what you are going for.....politicians are going to side with the majority of people that will get them re-elected....no matter what their personal views on it are.
If you really want to see how it works....rent the movie The Distinguished Gentleman with Eddie Murphy. It's a comedy, but I think they hit the nail on the head with how politicians work.
Eddie: Am I for or against this?
Politician: well...if you are for it, you get $50,000 from this lobbying group....if you are against it, you get $70,000 from the opposing lobbying group.
Eddie: I think I'm against it.
Politician: yeah, I think you are against it. (chuckles)
