Actually, not nearly that much spawn as it seems. Tiny lil bit. 2-3 spoons only per layer. I was able to make a ton of straw cakes with only a few brf cakes.



oh, and to chop the straw like that, I used a leaf muncher/mulcher I got from here - http://www.eco-gardening.com/docs/co...lchmaker.shtml

The larger strips, I just toss aside and don't use. They tend to stick out and let contams get em b4 the myc reaches up it. Otherwise though, this mulcher is the best thing I've seen Makes quick work of a bale and makes it very nice and good sized, oh, and is adjustable.
