Actually I think you might be right. The ones we found didn't have a centralized stipe. They were off to the side like the ones in your post, you just can't tell from the angles. Also the one I picked up was the most circular of all of the ones we walked past. Kinda nasty looking from the top, I was surprised to see such lovely yellow gills.
