| very good mushroom flavor. meaty and dense, can be used a variety of way or even pickled or canned. an average clump is 1.5-2 lbs....ive seen them as large as 18lbs but as with many mushrooms the somewhat juvenile ones are the tastiest. i made duxcelle with all the hens on my butcherblock table in my kitchen, and have it frozen in yogurt cups in the freezer for this winter. its great added to stuffing or used to make the gravy for the turkey.....<mouth watering> or both.......... |
