| bobcat there a type of gnat that seems to infest blewits, ive literally taken a shopvac to the caps before. i use blewits like any other mushroom, they are very rich in mushroom flavor and the flesh is kind of dense and creamy. they are good. some say they taste too mushroomy---is there such a thing?
anyway...because i have a woods that is thick in them i dehydrate alot and make a ton of duxcelle with them so i have wild mushrooms to add to recipes all winter. i look for them in areas with alot of white pine a needle duff....edges of hardwoods ...they dont really host to trees., and they love to grow in leaf litter etc. |
