I've got that same book Waylit. It's a good one for sure.
I'm having a hard time remembering the near identical mushroom that causes people to mistake the poisonous mushroom for the edible mushroom. The 2 are nearly identical, with the exception of a few characteristics like spores exc., but they look identical nearly. One way to tell the Amanita from the edible is; the bulb like bottom of the stem on the Amanita is enclosed in a sack of skin. If you use your fingers to gently massage the bulb on the stem, the skin of the sack will move around on the Amanita. The sack should pull away from the bulb on the stem on the Amanita. That's one way I read you can tell the difference in the Destroying Angel and the edible look alike.
Regardless, don't attempt to eat any of the 2. More information on the species............
