SWIM likes to use the pie pan casing tek inside of the portable greenhouses.
He starts out with quarts of grain, usually popcorn or rye, innoculated with a multispore innoculation. Once full colonization has come about, he performs several sets of g2g transfers. This doubles, triples, or quadruples his number of avaliable colonized quarts. Once he has the desired number of quarts colonized, he crumbles the grains into the bottom of a square 8"x8" pie pan, 1 quart per pie pan. SWIM uses straight vermiculite as the casing layer. He microwaves a bowl of verm for three minutes, and adds water to the bowl to cool it down, and to hydrate the verm. He then spoons the verm out of the water, allowing excess water to drain off. A 1/2 inch layer of verm goes on top of the substrate. The pan is now covered in foil and allowed to incubate for two days before going into the greenhouse.
SWIM likes to "patch" the casing wherever he sees colonization comming through. This is done by putting a very thin layer of wet verm over the area breaking through.
Fruits come shortly.
Get an All American pressure cooker. It is my best purchase to date.
