Tips, I love tips, sometimes they are easier to read than teks. Here's some:

1. When you do popcorn or WBS always throw a 1/4" of either perlite or verm. in the bottom of the jars before sterilizing to soak up any excess water. Shake when they come out and you'll have no dead spots.

2. A "new" casing I found that works great and helps slow the use of verm. Mix verm and perlite 50-50, stir in some DE and bring to field capacity with water mixed with bleach and pickling lime (1gal to 1Tbls to 1Tbls) (2Tbls of bleach will even work, pinned in two days)Less contams than peat, IMO.

3. After casing, incubate for 48 hours then fruit.

4. Rotate your lighting schedule. Everything should be dynamic cause they'll get used to any schedule and take their good old time. Keep them little guys wondering and they'll get scared and sprout.

5. Only look in on them ONCE every 24 hours. They grow faster that way. (Sort of what Subterra said earlier)

6. A little thing I call the Squirrel Tek, bury those little 1/2 pinters all over your yard under a 1/4 of soil any where it's in shade during the afternoon and early evening. Crumble or bury whole, it doesn't matter. Cover the spot with a thin layer of day old grass clippings and water as needed. Use fresh or used up cakes, they are all good.

7. Invest in some anti-bacterial hand soap and dish soap. Also, spray down any and all walking surfaces in critical areas that are waterproof with a mix of iodine and water at least once a week. (My basement floor has an orange tint to it)

8. Beware of what you read. Some teks and a lot of answers are speculative and the writers are just guessing. Know the source is reliable. (More than once I've read a post of someone asking for help picking an easy strain to try for the first time and then two weeks later giving advice on straw teks)
