Slight correction.

You don't need air filters on jar lids with open inoculation holes. You DO need air filters if you fill the inoculation holes with silicone to make self healing injection ports.

Edit: filters aren't critical, a hole for air exchange is critical (if you fill the inoculation holes with silicone).
