so i am assuming that your "spliff" had some quantity of tobacco in it rather than being a "high quality or well-rolled marajuana joint" cuz if it were that and you smoked it in a hurry, you would just be in a pleasent baked haze.
i take it that you are not a regular smoker of tobacco? your experience reminds me of when i was a little boy and i had stolen a pack of smokes from my old man's dresser drawer. pall mall red, non filter. so me & my homeys lit up just lke w had seen our dads doing. this was along time ago. way before cell phones, video games, internet and shit like that. anyway, we hacked, gaged and puked just like you did. only we wanted to be cool like our dads so we kept sucken on the things untill we could do so without even so much as a cough. ya man, we were cool--just like the marburo man. we all grew up to be regular smokers. eventually i quit, but you never forget the pleasure of that first puff. had the same reaction to copenhagen, but kept that up untill i could do that without pukeing too.
