certainly,
we learned, gradually, to respect each other
and understand that we were not real enemies.
this same process has occured over and over
in my career here,
at least with those
who were open to reason.
we clashed at first,
as strong-willed intelligent people
are prone to do,
but then we moved past that
to better things.
