I don't know if a new battery will fix it, but it's worth a shot. The problem with mine was if you didn't recharge it before it powered down on its own, it wouldn't power back up ever again even if you tried to charge it first. It would do this with fairly new batteries. | Try resetting it by holding down the select and menu buttons at the same time until the unit comes on. It usually takes around 5 or so seconds.
