So apparently the case is metal and the screen is real glass. Metal doesn't absorb shock too well, so I guess dropping it would transfer all the shock to the glass, which would probably break it. They sure did make it real slick and shiny, too. Whooops!

And, some reviewers predict complaints from the fact that it won't be able to do what's implied by the movie watching features; streaming video to your phone bumps up against the bandwidth bottleneck of the cell network, which isn't up to the iPhone's capabilities yet (though it might help speed that development up).

And if you live in Vermont, sorry, no iPhones at all! (Seriously, they got left out since AT&T isn't a provider in that state)

As far as status-bling goes, the iPhone still isn't as cool as the brand-new 12th generation iPod I got from an insider (Most companies design and build multiple generations of a product before releasing the first, to keep the "NEW!!" factor going by releasing the next gen as popularity wanes for the previous). Anyhow, Apple's going all the way with miniaturization, and none of you can repost this anywhere, but here is a scanning electron micrograph of the new and Top Secret iPod "Femto," seen here resting on a pile of awkwardly bulky nanotubes. It uses no headphones, you just stick it in your ear.

The trouble with miniaturization and packing tons of features in tiny boxes being trendy is that the trendiest stuff is invisible to the naked eye, so how do I let others know how cool I am?
