I think it has more to do with the method than the drug. (i know it can be smoked) 2 guys I knew back in the day shot it, 1st time. One of them died. The other lost half his liver and more or less had severe medical complications for the rest of his life. They were 18 or 19 at the time. I think it was dirty needles, but I don't really remember.

In that situation, there is really no such thing as better luck next time.
