I think this contest will show us ,what the biggest producing strain is,at this time...
I don't think there is any ''best'' substrate,..I think this is more of a combination,of different sourches and mixtures.
Some people grow better shrooms on straw and some on poo or both,..some on thin casings and some on thick casing etc..
And then there is agar,clones and multispore...what again adds alot of factors.
..I like poo more then straw,but I'm still experimenting with this...it's time consuming ,but alot of fun...!
