bags versus jars,
i prefer bags, no question on that.
as a vendor i've noticed that
the vast majority of customers that have problems
it's almost always your basic pf style jars.
i've taken numerous steps/precautions to minimize problems
but still one cannot ignore the raw data-
jars fail more than bags,
if for no other reason than these 2 facts-
a] bags can be squeezed to crumble & mix for faster colonization
b] bags are totally sealed .
frankly i suspect, after several thousand jars,
that pf's verm barrier is the weak link in his tek.
it works proly like 95% of the time
but bags are more like 99.9 %.
