hope they have a stockpile. we have the 2nd biggest stockpiles of nuclear warheads (9,960 they say) ready to go when needed.
  • 1,050 Intercontinental ballistic missles (ICBMs)
  • 2,016 Submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) via 18 Ohio class subs
  • 1,955 from B-52's and B-2's
  • 500 can be fitted to our fighter-bombers
  • 100 Tomahawk cruise missiles that can be fired from ships or subs
  • A few hundred B61 nukes are based in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey, and UK
  • 4,225 are stockpiled just in case our first wave didnt do the trick
lets see if the Iranian navy can station subs within lethal range of our border, but i highly doubt they have that capability, or the capability to detect and shoot down our stealth a B-2 loaded with 16 nukes.

but you never know, if the Serbs using a modified 1960s vintage SAMs could down a F-117 Nighthawk, then that could force our bombers to stay above 15,000 ft. btw, the NATO forces never got one of those Serbian Colonel's SAMs during the 78 day attack in 1999.

and if the Chinese or North Korea are helping supply arms to Iran, who knows what they could have developed to at least inflict some expensive harm if we did decide to bomb them.

also the serbs used dummies to fool NATO aircraft into bombing false targets, while their real SAMs remained buried in the ground and camoflauged... sounds like good ol' WWII tactics to me.

besides, i think using nukes is still sensitive these days, if we are the big bully beating up the little guy, and then find out after deploying our nukes that Iran never had any... well thats not going to be good news.
