| I haven't flame sterilized a jar yet, and haven't seen any contaminants at the point of inoculation. Of course, since I originally used the syringes, I PC them before use each time. My procedure goes:
1) Wrap syringe in two layers of foil.
2) Put foiled syringe in quart Mason jar
3) Put a foil lid on quart Mason jar
4) PC 25 min... I can't really remember if I did this at 5 PSI or 15. I'll run through my records and check and fix it, but I want to say it was 15. Let cool.
5) Put whole Mason jar, with foil still intact, in glovebox
6) Remove foil on Mason jar. Remove syringe. Remove foil on syringe.
7) Wipe down with isopropyl alcohol between every hole
I'd guess you might have over-extended yourself, but perhaps not. The first lesson to learn is patience. You'll drive yourself crazy worrying about your grows. |
