ok, I think I am hallucinating on these messages, they seem to appear and disappear randomly.

When I finally drank my brew it was also 5 days after brewing. When you boil down the cactus tea I think there is always some cactus sticking to the sides of the pot.. at least there is for me. When your fridge is so cold that there is ice on your cactus I sincerely doubt any form of mold could have developed that fast. Also, consider that having boiled your brew for that long must have killed practically anything that was potentially alive in there. Not covering it is the one wrong decision. Having covered it would have been better, but I would personally think it is still fine.

IF there was any mold after just 5 days (and it's not even visible) it's highly unlikely (0.000...0001 I think) it would give anything else than an upset stomach. I recall seeing one report of some American Indians becoming sick after drinking peyote tea, but in that case the tea had been stored in the fridge for MONTHS, not days. But if I was positive there was mold on a brew (which you are not), then I would not serve it for anyone.

But I know the feeling of uncertainty, and I would also have been 100* more careful if brewing for others and not just for myself.
