Yes definitely wait 2 hours before adding to the dose.
Story time:
I made some chocolate chip cookies with some cannabutter once. I gave 1 cookie to my friend and I ate 2 (I have a MUCH higher tolerance than he does). we waited an hour and I started to feel something but not too much, he didn't feel anything yet he said. He ate another half then waited only 10 minutes before he ate the other half, bad idea. The first cookie started to hit him 20 minutes later. He was fine for awhile, then he started having some anxiety, a little after that he started having extreme anxiety attacks. Not pretty. I shit you not he was having random anxiety attacks for two days then called and woke me up the next morning to tell me that he was still high. He was high for 3 freaking days.
