Cloning will not guarantee a canopy-type grow everytime. I have seen clones perform very well and others that just plain sucked. It's still a bit of luck even with isolates. I have had better success cloning tissue from good clusters of growth than from simply big, stand-alone fruits. And I have taken to working with multiple clones to find the best performer. It takes a few tries sometimes, but science is all about experimenting, eh?

I have also had some amazing results with multispore grows, but an isolate will generally outperform most MS grows.
