the circles do correlate with the tub that has the overlay.
The casing is straight coir and is closer to an inch than 1/2 inch is some places. I'm thinking that this is the reason for the slower casing colonization in the one tub.
I don't know about the strain. It came from some old syringes I got from Capt Max years ago.

A few q's: What's the casing? Is it coir? and how thick is the casing? It's just that it looks pretty thick on the last tub picture in profile.
