It's so easy to make, Teo! The most time consuming part was chopping up all the veggies. All you need aside from the veggies is a jar of chili paste (i use the jar with the rooster on it with the green cap-- you can get it at safeway in the 'ethnic' section) a bunch of salt and either fish sauce or vinegar works ok too. Beastmaster has a couple of kimchi making threads if you do a search.

He sure is. ![]() I was just talking to my mom on the phone yesterday about making kimchi. She says it's a very forgiving process as long as you don't screw up the salting step. And you can add basically whatever kind of veggies you want (although i would stay away from high water content stuff that could get mushy like bell peppers) and seasonings you want. I used a half a head of garlic and a bunch of grated ginger in this batch. My mom says it's basically ready to eat when you're done mixing it up too. You don't actually have to wait for it to ferment, the fermentation just gives it that great sour taste.

salad of oven roasted red potatoes, green beans, olives, and red onion... with a homemade rosemary & thyme vinaigrette... and a generous sprinkling of parmesean cheese! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Just had some sirloin tip stirfry over white rice(was OUSTANDING if i do say so me/self ) that i made using hoison garlic and sweet sesame sauce.Later on after the big game (when i'm a tad polluted mind you),i'll have some homeade crumbcake with a quart of milk to wash all that goodness down with(NOTHING like making ur own Crumbcake

Fresh Sour dough brule with fresh avocado spread generously across it.....With potatoes that I'v grown, made into skillet fries (olive oil, a bit of coconut oil, garlic salt, curry, chipotle pepper, and "Whole Lotta Love" playin in the background)

I'm drinking a Hazed and Confused Ale while waiting for my sushi rice to cool down. Once it does I'll assemble rolls made with Shrimp, Avocado, and Shiitake mushrooms boiled in a mixture of soy sauce, sake and brown sugar. With lots of Wasabi! Mmmmm! |

Leftover veggies from last night-- Put 4 sausages in a pan with sliced baby fingerling potatoes, beets, yellow carrots and quartered tomatoes which i tossed first with olive oil, salt & pepper then drizzled with spicy brown mustard balsamic vinaigrette. Baked at 375 till NOMNOMNOM

Leftover homemade stir fry with chicken, shrimps, onions, and broccoli. Sauce consists of a can of beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, some sugar, a lil water, and cornstarch to thicken it up. All put over some white rice.I've made it many times with chicken, this time I added some shrimps! Very good! WOOT. |

Haven't been feeling so hot so i made a big pot of the most popular comfort food in the world! juk aka congee. I like mine with white pepper and fermented tofu mixed in. This time i added a handful of thinly sliced dried shiitakes and chopped scallions. Having a bowl with a big pile of kimchi on top. Maybe later i will have another bowl with a salted duck egg.
