Home made vegetarian chili. Its fairly simple. Ingredients: 1 Onion 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 red pepper chopped Olive Oil to coat bottom of pan 1 large can of tomato puree 1 small can of tomato paste 1 regular size can of diced tomatoes 2 large cans of black beans Handful of roasted peanuts Handful of chopped button mushrooms 1 bay leaf 2 tablespoons of cumin powder Dash of cinnamon Half a teaspoon of chili powder Combine olive oil, diced onion, pepper, mushrooms and garlic in large sauce pot. Saute lightly until the onions are tender. Add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste until ingredients are coated with the tomato paste. Add the cinnamon, cumin, bay leaf and chili powder. Then, add the tomato puree, diced tomatoes, black beans, and peanuts. Stir to combine. Let that simmer for a few hours. You can also season to your own taste and add any vegetables you see fit. Sometimes I will add a diced jalapeno. When I serve this I put a handful of fritos in the bottom of the bowl, some chili, and then cheese to top it off. Sometimes I'll add fresh cut tomatoes and sour cream on top if I feel like it. Hope this is useful to some of you. ![]() Note: Remember to remove the bay leaf! You don't want to eat that. |

Pulled Pork with steamed rice. Into the crockpot went 1.5 pounds of boneless pork shoulder 'ribs' (that's how they were marked on the package) which were seasoned well with salt, pepper and dried mustard. On top of that one sliced medium sized onion and about 2 cups of white wine. Crocked on high for about 4-5 hours, then added about half a cup of honey BBQ sauce. I left the lid off for the last hour to let the sauce evap some and thicken up, then i shredded the pork. Served over steamed rice, yummy!

Remember that crab^ ? Well, notice I only used half of it for that salad. Well, made the salad out of all of it but only ate half the salad I guess I should say. So, this morning, for brunch, I tossed it into the middle of an omelette with some string cheese. Delish! ![]() Omelette: 1 whole egg 2 egg whites dash of soy sauce dash of eggnog salt and pepper and a lil dill weed left over crab salad string cheese salt and pepper, tiny dash of cayenne, dillweed Beat and drop into a hot skillet that has a big lump of butter melted in it, stir for a bit then reduce heat to medium, once it starts to firm up add the cheese and allow to melt then toss on the crab salad (warm up in microwave for like 30 sec or so) a lil more cheese, let it all cook and then flip one side of the omlette over and close it up. ![]() Give it a flip and let it all cook together, maybe a lil more cheese on the outside, then toss it on a plate dump the remaining crab salad on top and eat it. I added some steamed asparagus spears, for color. And some coffee with eggnog to wash it all down. ![]() My technique isn't that great, mom said I didn't use enough butter in the beginning, but even though it didn't turn out picture perfect, I didn't care, i ate it in about 30 seconds it was so good. ![]() I was thinking that mixing in some oyster mushrooms with the crab salad would be a good filler, maybe stretch that yummy crab meat out a bit...

1 4 pound package of wings. 1 bottle franks red hot wing sauce cut wings up, i cook the tips up for my doggy. pour bottle of franks over wings, stir up cook at 500 deg F for about 35 minutes occasionally stirring them up When they are just at being done, drain the sauce off into another pan, or throw it away if you dont wanna pour it back over your wings. Broil wings for about 10 minutes to get them all nice and charred and crispy. Pour the sauce back on and munch like a champion. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Home Made White Chocolate Popcorn: First: Pop some natural popcorn and put in big bowl. I like mine with a little bit of salt on it to counter act the sweet white chocolate I'm going to put on it later. Second: Melt white chocolate morsels in microwave (Let white chocolate cool a little before starting next step) Third: Pour white chocolate on top of the popcorn and mix. You can do this with a big spoon, but I like to put on a latex glove and do it with my hands. If you don't let the white chocolate cool enough to touch with your hands you could burn yourself. Last: I put the popcorn in a bag to save and munch on later although I like it fresh better. |

Made some chicken curry, first time with this sort of recipe, so I just followed the directions on the jar of curry paste. Its piping hot right now so I don't mind taking a moment while it cools to type this out: Thai Green Curry Chicken The Ingredients - 1 14 oz can coconut milk 1 tbsp curry paste 1 tbsp fish sauce 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey 1 chicken breast 1/4 cup bamboo shoots 1/2 cup frozen peas 1/3 cup chicken stock 1 cup chopped oyster mushrooms 1 cup chopped shitake mushrooms basil cayenne The Procedure - In a large sauce pan simmer one 14 fl. oz. can coconut milk with 1 to 2 tbsp green curry paste over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add 1-2 chicken breast cut into bite sized pieces, 1 to 2 Tbsp fish sauce, 1-2 tbsp brown sugar (I used honey), 1/4 cup bamboo shoots, 1/2 cup frozen peas and 1/3 cup chicken stock. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, garnish with fresh basil and serve hot over rice. BM variation - I used one chicken breast and kept all ingredients at 1 Tbsp when given option for 1-2, though I used probably more like a cup of peas and a full cup of chicken stock. Also I added in a cup each oyster mushrooms and shitake mushrooms, chopped. Sprinkled some cayenne on top as on initial test taste it seemed rather mild.
