    Definitive read for Trichocereus collectors...

Best site ive found by far..

theres a TON of info and pretty pics to be distracted by, so i suggest starting here
for general and propagation info on the genus,
then click to any section of the site that interests you through the hotlinks in text, pics, and at the above navigation bar.

Please review the article on direct-planting to the earth if yer climate allows for such
(USDA hardiness zones 8 and 9 i believe) TAKE ADVANTAGE! you will be happy you did

That's a good point, for anyone in a year round warm climate.
Unfortunately not everyone lives in California or down south and must take the cacti inside for the winter.

In the last 2 months I have bought some Pedros at Target, Home Depot and Lowes, they were labeled and everything.
It's crazy, they were everywhere, same company at all the stores too.
Anyway, I put some of those in the ground on the south side of my house to see for the first time, how they do in the ground.
I just looked at them today and they look fantastic!
They have grown faster than any of my potted specimens for sure.
In ground is the way to go.

I live in zone 8b, but we get so much rain here sometimes during the summer, I've always been too concerned about rot to plant in the ground.

Also, we do still get frost at times in the winter... won't that be a problem?
