    Look what I found in my backyard

    just kidding, This is the largest peyote I have ever seen.I found this pic on the web and was wondering if anyone had an idea of its age. 100 maybe 150 yrs old?

    amazing. its age depends on whether or not they grafted it to t. peru or t. pach.

    yes. you can graft it onto a pereskiopsis or t. pach/peru and grow it pretty big with multiple pups, then cut it off and plant it. when the peyote are grafted, they lose alot of their alkalooids. by planting them in the ground for a season or two, they get them back and are ready to be eaten yum!

    i don't think they lose them, they just get bigger faster, outpacing the alkaloid production in relation to the size.
    do you have a source or are you theorizing?

    i read it somewhere but am not certain whether they lose it or the growth outpaces the production. either way, the peyote has less than it should for its size.
