what to do with the pups i got

I got 3 pedro cuttings and each one had a pup on it so i am wondering how and who big they have to be to root them. Is it like any other cutting. I was thinking if it is to small i could cut a 3" chunk off the cutting that the pups are attached to and root that. Any help would be nice.

i've rooted pedro cuttings that were 1.5" long. they did take a lot longer to root than others that were +3" tho. i do use rooting hormone on my cactus cuttings.
