    Talking Lophophora diffusa flowering sequence

Hello, I recently acquired a pair of Lophophora diffusa a couple of weeks ago from a cactus nursery, these are three years old according to the person behind the register.

At the time of purchase, one of the pair had a dried flower sticking out the top, which fell off a few days later.

About a week ago I noticed that something was poking out the center of the cactus. I think I've watered them three times, once with a diluted wormcasting tea.

First photo is 5 days to go, second photo is 3 days to go, last two photos are in existence due to a rare urge to swing by home on lunch break. The flower was closed when I got home that evening.

I was so surprised at the open flower that I forgot to do anything about pollinating it. I wasn't prepared, basically, but maybe I can blame it on the lunch hour rush? Later that evening I tried prying the petals open with some tweezers to get in there and swab the pollen onto the pistil, but it seemed like I was being a bit rough.. Hopefully I'll get more flowers this summer...
