    Freeze Precipitation
    So I was just wondering..after a freeze precipitation of say DMT, around how much would be left in the solvent?

    How would you try to reclaim spice from the solvent after freeze precip? Evaporation and recrystallize?

    Also, you're supposed to have a super saturated solvent before attempting to freeze ... correct?

    Well, there is a good bit left in the solvent.
    Exactly. Evap & rec. FOAF evaps all of the solvent and then washes with n-heptane.

    Yes,your solvent should turn cloudy at room temp before the freeze.

    The left over has a lot of other stuff in it. I use the lazy method by letting all of the solvent evap. Washing with small amounts of Hot Heptane until just the " fat & wax" is left will help clean it up.
    N-Heptane "rubber cement solvent" is great for the crystals

    yeah after the freeze precip, evap the nps and check. usually a small amt of painfully! unsmokable stuff is left
