    Question cactus rot?

Whilst cutting the skin off of a piece of cactus I realized the green flesh under the skin was actually orange (only in certain places). the log was really old but still looked and felt good from the outside. Is it rot?

i've seen this orange coloration before in cuttings that had been stored for several months. i assumed that it was indeed rot when i saw it. also, a san pedro i had killed by freezing temperatures ultimately rotted away to the root, and the rotting flesh was again this orange color in that case.

howdy badger,u can cut a way the rot and put it in the sun to dry out or cover it with sulfur powder and place in the sun to dry. should be fine its the brown mushy rot u dont wont.cut it back to healthy green and white flesh and dry,u should get new pups wen it comes away next.
