| Whilst cutting the skin off of a piece of cactus I realized the green flesh under the skin was actually orange (only in certain places). the log was really old but still looked and felt good from the outside. Is it rot? |

| i've seen this orange coloration before in cuttings that had been stored for several months. i assumed that it was indeed rot when i saw it. also, a san pedro i had killed by freezing temperatures ultimately rotted away to the root, and the rotting flesh was again this orange color in that case. |
