Hey everyone,

I got some Kratom in, and am just about to try it for the first time.

I got some "farm grown" foliage, so I guess that is the lower
quality stuff...so I'm going for a 10 gram dose.

I'm crushing the leaves up, and then the remains are going
into capsuls.

I guess I am even going to make a trip to get some grapefruit
juice.

Any advice?
Should be fairly relaxed I imagine.

That was my original idea, but what do you think
of the standards posted on erowid? They seem to
be pretty precise based on the type you buy.

I have the cheapest stuff, so I was thinking of upping
the dose.

Also, could Kratom be smoked? I have never seen
a reference to this...and it sure looks like I'm about
to roll a fattie blunt.

The gram count dropped just over a gram after stems
removed from the pile of crunched up leaves.


edit: I will also be a bit lazier and just drink the leaves
down. My stomach can handle it I'm sure...maybe I will
make tea when I have a better strainer.

Cool...I finally ordered some kratom after a long time of wanting to try it, I now await anxiously for it to arrive

Did you get the bali or thai?

And if you're gonna smoke it, I'd atleast extract it first.

Well I've done a little reading just now on smoking the whole
leaves, although I have already drank my drink (not terrible,
even with the leaves only being crushed with a spoon in a cup).

I may try to smoke some also, apparently the effects are short
acting. I also read that you could boil down the remaining water
after a hot water extraction into a goop for pills or smoking.
Who knows. It seems pretty safe to try some different things with it.

btw: It is actually a hawaiian species.

Grind 6 grams to a fine powder in a coffee grinder then toss it back with water.

Quality can vary considerably depending on vendor, time of year, etc.

I love the stuff, whole grind red-green vein thai is my favorite, 3 hours of great effects. Try not to use every day, every other day or every 2nd day or more is best to keep the magic coming. I only use it once at night, right after dinner...tends to keep you up pretty late unless your dead tired.

It might be hard to smoke 6 grams.

well kratom is a plant i know to well, and i have been growing 2 trees of them fore 5 years, there alot bigger then when i first got em from my dad, but i grow one with a flan blowing on it for most of the day, and the other one without. and i made pretty much blackish brown tar out of them and it seems the one with the fan blowing on it is way more potent. I have no idea why, but its really good shit thinking of selling it soon, i usually take .2-.4 grams per dose and it feels great.

My peak is normally around 2-3 hours into the trip lasting till 4 -5 hours.
If I where you I would just keep this dose till the end,then wait a couple of days and try it another time,with more or less Kratom.

Yeah, I guess that's what I will do...

There was some sedation, but nothing more really,
maybe I felt a little off at times, nothing much.

Perhaps it is just potency, I will up the dose next time.

If your eating crushed leaf, yer not going to feel much except indigestion...
Important to grind as fine as possible so the alkaloids are released rapidly..

Ditto what Golly said, and you may want to buy some super fine whole grind leaf from a reputable vendor. Try 6 grams of theirs, then compare with what you took...I have found the quality to vary depending on who you buy it from. I read on the kratomforum.com board that there was a weak batch of bali that hit in August and stayed around a month or so, many many people found the bali from different vendors to all be weak, some vendors even offered to replace it for free with stuff from a new batch...I have tried red-green vein thai from a particular vendor, and stick with him because it's consistent.
