| DMT and Salvia sorry this isn't about trying DMT and Salvia together... (it would be interesting to hear about though) Could some of you guys and gals write up a little bit about the similarities and differences of DMT and Salvia? I would just like to know more about the experiences that other people are having. I have never tried Salvia, but I have experience with DMT. Is Salvia a cake walk compared to DMT? As far as my experiences, nothing has come even close to DMT (especially breakthroughs). Any input is appreciated!

| Salvia & DMT are similar in a lot of ways, like the total (all 5 senses) hallucination. The difference, at least to me and my friends, is that DMT is a beautiful and loving energy that lifts you up to a higher plane/place, then cradles you back down to this reality. Salvia is a what-the-fuck-whirlwind that rips you out of this reality and drops you in some random thought/time existence that is completely disassosiative and quite uncontrolled, by the time you get your bearings, your on your way down. Which that is another big difference, salvia has a strange-to-negative physical effect as well, kind of like your skin has a liquid outer layer and you feel it peeling off into evaporation, kind of like lizard scales too. DMT makes your body feel wonderfully euphoric and at the same time warm and relaxed. By the way this is when you smoke salvia!! Taking a liquid salvia tincture(check out "Diviners Elixir"), which you hold under your tounge for 10 to 15 minutes or so, is a totaly different experience from smoking Salvia. Taking salvia sublingual (under the tounge) gives a very organic, meditative and floaty effect that slowly comes on over like 15 minutes and lasts from 30 minutes to an hour and is Stangely DMT-like but not as fast and direct, it can be very subtle at smaller doses but can also be as strong as smoked salvia but you need to take a huge dose. Salvia Elixirs are quite nice but they do burn the hell out of your mouth and you have to sit with a huge mouth full of burning liquid in your mouth for up to a half hour and then sometimes it is still only a very subtle effect if the set & setting are not just right. And I mean JUST RIGHT, Salvia is extremely picky about when she will give you a full visit. Its just not worth the troubles when DMT is soooooooooo much easier to take and is a better experience 100% of the way!!! just my 2 cents WS |

| DMT is so much easier to take? Really? I actually find it to be a gripping challenge to come face to face with DMT. Although I must say that it has gotten easier and more enjoyable everytime. Perhaps I just don't very easily give myself away to the experience.

| Smoked Salvia is probably not the thing for you then, it is a powerful experience, like DMT but there is a definite negative feeling to it that DMT dose not have. DMT is very extreem too, but it leaves your "mind" intact, meaning you still think the same. as Terrince McKenna puts it, "you go there with all of your groceries". Salvia rips the you away, total ego loss but not the loving ego loss of "I am not me, I am everything, we are all one" that DMT and other tryptamines can sometimes give you but an "I am no one or nothing and nowhere" type of ego loss. Fucking Scary when you can "see/feel" a hallucination of a childhood experience like you are there and at the same time you can "see" the room your in through a crack in your eyelids, but you don't have any clue who you are or which reality is the "real" one and no idea how you will ever get back to either one. At the same time it really doesn't matter because who or what the fuck are you anyway!?!?!?!? if your gonna try salvia, I highly suggest trying a tincture, its a much friendlier experience!!! Diviners Elixir is by far the best liquid salvia you can get, it actualy tastes pretty good, like peppermint, and burns less than other tinctures I've tried. Before I found DMT I tried almost all of the tinctures I could find and the only one I would spend any of my money on now, is Diviners Elixir!! by the way I don't work for them or anything. LOL Cheers!! WS Last edited by reverend trips : 11-17-07 at 21:33. Reason: non-sponsor link removed |

Having said that, I have not touched my salvia stash since I extracted MHRB for the first time about a month&1/2 ago and finallyt got to try DMT for the first time. I don't think I'll ever smoke salvia again, but I'm sure I will take at least the rest of the "Diviners Elixir" that I have left. Cheers WS | |
