Looking good prism ![]() Your grafts are doing great! I haven't seen the Peres grow through the scion like that, might be because of the impale method? How far into the bridge did you insert the Peres when you grafted it?

Well, I lost my Williamsi to a pilfering Squirrel but my friend Procell has made up for the loss big time!! These are my brand new ROOTED bridgesii Cuts... I will cherish them always!! I am so happy to finally have some nice fat specimens to add to my collection. Now I can focus on Grafting my seedlings without worrying about losing one here and there. Thanks again Procell!! you have made this cacti farmer happier than you will ever know. ![]() ![]() I love Mycotopia!!

I truely I think this is the best gift I have ever received from anyone excluding the Nintendo I got when I was 12. SOOOOO HAPPYNESS!!! So I am thinking... Would you take the secondary small ones as cuts to propagate them? Hee hee Lots to do Lots to do!!

![]() They definately look Pachanoi to me. You could easily remove the secondary growth and grow it no problem. If it were me though, I would leave them until they got a bit bigger before removing them. They will likely grow faster on the already established root system of the main plant. Another option would be to remove the larger growth, replant it and leave the pup to grow off the stump (more pups would likely also form). Pachanoi make great rootstocks for Loph's, they are very hardy and don't mind frequent watering if the climate is warm.

Update: My cacti collection keeps getting bigger as time goes on and I have decided to propagate as much as possible. The first few pics are my outdoor cacti and they love the summer sun. Indoors, my pereskiopsis is the fastest and most prolific. Which is good because I plan to start grafting Bridgesii to pereskiopsis with every new pup I get from Rootstock. Notice the soon to be grafted Brigdesii pups from the stock of the grafts I took a few months ago. The leafy plant is my Salvia plant rockin in the summer sun. Anyone who says that she doesn't like direct sunlight is a dufus IMO.

NP Man, This thread is the only way I see any progress because the timescale that these plants grow on makes it hard to see results. This thread helps see that I'm making a difference.. ![]() I think that once I get this grafting thing down its all gravy... I can put them under the HIDs now that I have the extra room so I can let em grow year round.

Nice cacti prism... I have a question for you cactus experts and to you Twoguysupnorth... on the first page twoguysupnorth poated a picture of a cutting he got... I'll add it at the bottom.. is this a peruvianus or a Cuzcoensis? This website discusses the misidentification problem: Anyone here who has tried cuzco? http://www.sacredcactus.com/peruvian_torch4.htm ...and I fear that I actually have a Cuzco that I've been growing for 10 years thinking it was a peruvianus. There are pictures of it in my Album. So my question is are they active? Did you try the cutting twoguysupnorth? Thanks

Some recent additions to the garden: These are "Jade" and "Mother of millions" plants that I was GIVEN by the lady at the garden shop. We got to talking and she said that they needed a good home... Im bushing the Jade out for sure as it is a fine specimen... The MOM plant supposedly has some interesting reproductive qualities to research.. I was sure to pick up some of those sweet square pots for babies while I was there. I have decided I am going to build a Flouro grow-cab for my botanicals and cacti... Stay Tooned! Thanks Garden Lady!

It May be reaching for the soil but it is growing. It has perked up and has a new happy growth tip on the scion. Has anyone seen a graft do this? Root off the Scion I mean?

It does happen sometimes. I have had it happen to both grafted Trichs and Lophs occasionally. Quite often the Peres can grow roots that seem like they are coming from the scion though. Here is a pic of one of my Bridgesii grafts growing roots of its own while still on Peres.

Thanks Guys! the key to collecting cacti is to keep getting new species etc. If not it can get very boring... Here are some updated pics.. Looks like everyone loves the 400 Watt MH. Especially the Pereskiopsis....

I have impale grafted the bridgesii pups onto pereskiopsis... Agonizing screams can still be heard all over the house... ![]() I hope that they all take this time... ![]() The beauty of having rootstock bridgesii throwing pups is that you can use the pups for grafting without losing an entire plant.
