A question regarding San Pedro and heat

Hello, first post here. I decided to make it a question that hasn't been answered by the search function (assuming I don't suck at searching of course).

    The question:

Would it be possible to do the following:

    Slice cactus into star sections
Slice into quarters (or blend, your choice)
Add cactus sections into equal volume of water
Add lemon juice, vinegar, something to acidify the water

    Now here's the tricky part.

Could one just let this sit, with frequent shaking/stirring -- similar to a morning glory LSA extraction? This of course is opposed to the typical method of simmering the mixture for a period of time to pull the alkaloids from the plant matter.

Granted this would take much more time, but if someone doesn't have access to a stove, would this be a plausible alternative? I'm no chemistry junkie, but I don't see why this wouldn't work. The only red flag I see on the horizon is the cactus bits rotting while sitting in water.
