lab equipment - proper safety equipment for pedro a/b extracts?

i've been looking into proper safety equipment for a/b extracts working with xylene, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, and acetone. i'm looking for good equipment that can withstand the most uses (least break-through time), are the items listed below what people typically use in labs when they work with these chemicals?

    *polypropylene gloves

*shatter-resistant and anti-fog goggles that meet ANSI (Z87.1) safety standard that offer full protection of your eyes (front and sides)

    *vapor-resistant/fluid-resistant face mask, surgical quality

was wondering if this was a good mask for gassin (dealing with hydrochloric gas). in one of tregar's posts he said to get a respirator rated for use with formaldehyde, organic vapors, etc.

    well i got this respirator:
    http://www.sprayer-outlet.com/A60989.htm
    came with these filters:
    http://www.amazon.com/AO-Safety-Cart.../dp/B0019ZQLNA

says "Recommended for protection against paint and pesticide sprays and vapors, chlorine and muriatic acid, lead, asbestos and mold, lacquer and enamels." but even though it lists muriatic acid i'm going to search around some more tomorrow at stores to see exactly what's what. never taking shortcuts on safety but would like to get some info from you guys who are actually using these as well

Correct filters. My sincere advice is to set things up so that you don't need them except incase of emergency. Very wise to have, so as not to be forced to vacate your dwelling. If you fuck up, be sure to sing "Ride out the Gas Cloud" (to the tune of "Ridin' the Storm Out by I think REO Speedwagon) as you don your mask & handle business. Gas is the meaning of treachery, gas fuck up's can be truly epic. Really, really hard to explain, to the point jumping ship might be the bet. Sometimes the "It wasn't me cuz I wasn't there" excuse works...
Simply put, do not, just don't attract attention while using or especially because of use of such shit. You been told, and there ain't no fuck up like that fuck up.

Guess that would sound kind of bad wouldn't it..."Your honor...I know I created a poison gas cloud, but it was the only way I could get the top quality drugs I was looking for"
