Has anyone lost a significant portion of goods (spice) cold decanting the acidic aq? A foaf filtered once and did an overnight cold decant before reducing, then left sitting on shelf for 4ish days and a bunch more settled out.. Is it safe to decant it or should it be left in? I would guess it's fine to decant but it would suck to lose half the yield or some other amount of spice.. Thanks All |

i am big fan of decanting and washing the sediment, one or more times with fresh hot water and letting it settle and decanting it again. it may take a while but it leaves nothing behind.
