how do I Readjust DMT extraction recipe.

if you look at this recipe on this site;
http://tribes.tribe.net/ethnobotany/...b-a46bbbc5d603

it calls for 1 pound( which is about 453 grams) of Mimosa bark.... but I only have 84 grams... how would i adjust the recipe around this factor? What I mean is it says I should use 5 Tablespoons (63grams) of Sodium Hydroxide.... I would have to reduce this because a pound is 453 grams, since i only have about 1/5 of that, right?

Can anyone accurately tell me how to readjust the ingredients?

Thanks guys

Well 83g is ~19% of 453g

So you could take 19% of 63, which would be ~12g.

However your tek seems to be a little light on the lye.

You should use enough lye to make your bark solution turn black.

Also,
if this is your first time,
you might want to consider a Straight To Base extraction,
rather than an Acid/Base (which is what you've linked to)

also it might be easier to get a ph tester or ph paper... then just add lye until ur at ph 10.

also remember when adding lye, that you should first dilute the lye with water before adding it to ur extraction. this way you will avoid localized ph spikes that could damage the alkaloids.

all tho i have nothing against the stb method, i feel a simple a/b extract does better. also i believe that a ph of around 13 is needed if the np solvent being used is nap. ph paper is not really required. if the polar extract of the bark turns black and the layers seperate clean within minutes you have basified it enough. in order to keep the volumes of solution at a minimum i've found that adding the lye directly to the polar extract a little at a time causes no problem with yield. as with everything, there are millions of paths that lead to the same results. mars a/b extract tek works very well and is a good place to start. if you decide to continue the work you will develope your own method based on the teks you have read. the important thing is to read, read and read more until you understand what it is you are doing, and why. good luck!
