![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | MMM Opium ![]() Man this is some good stuff.I milked my pods yesterday and got just a tiny amount of opium for about 4 decent sized hits.Very mellow relaxed not a care in the world .Shame I have such small supply or maybe that's a good thing hehe.Read somewhere online that they can be milked more than once and went against my better judgment and milked them again today. To my surprise I got a decant amount that I can save for future milkings.Does anyone know how often they can be milked??Next year I will definitely be making a bigger flower bed .

well I just went out and counted how many sliced pods I have and it's about 16.I collected a bit of opium I missed yesterday too. Most are small and I licked the milk off of about 4 so not exactly sure if that's a good yield or not.Got a nice little buzz going from licking the pods.Still rather smoke it though for that sweet flowery taste.

Damn that sucks usagolden and EmissonJ.There is always next year though.Mine were growing really slow as well but I had them really crowded.Once I thinned them out I start giving them a regular diet of hpoo tea leftover from pasteurizations they took off. They really seemed to enjoy that and shot up rather fast. Was doing a bit of reading on harvest time and came across a really informative article I wanted to pass on to those that share similar interest.Wishing you all better luck next year http://www.poppies.org/news/9950238738526.shtml |

Thx for the tips Hippie. We got an unexpected heavy rain for about an hour this evening.I scrambled to cover the crop with a tarp to prevent any left over O from being washed off.Hopefully that won't happen again cause I'd like to milk them one more time before I harvest.Temps have been steadily rising so I'll be lucky to pull off one more milking.Weeeeeee the smoke is most pleasing. It's a very smooth flowery taste.I went ahead and smoked what was in the pic and it lasted quite a while. It seems as if I wasted the O I had yesterday as I smoked it out of the sherlock and was a comparable amount.Instead today I smeared it on foil and inhaled through a straw which made it last a lot longer.Don't know how many tokes it was but it lasted about a hour of a few hits and there.I find that bud has a very nice synergy with it.I would have just collected the milk on the bud and smoked that way but it wasn't good weed

if you lance the pods right, you can milk them for a month, cut the pods lateraly, starting from the top, and work your way down the pod, if you lance perpindicular to the stem you cut the veins that bring the milk to the rest of the pod. I got steymied this year with bad germ rates on the expensive seeds, finaly I broke down and bought a jar of mccormick seeds that almost sprouted before they hit the dirt. great job and who would have thought learning something would be so damn fun. |

Good info here... my poppies are about 18 inches tall... no poddage yet, but I'm hoping they'll pop up before summer kicks in here in the mountains. The california poppies have all sprouted and bloomed, but they're only good for lookin' ![]() soliver |
