best strain of Kratom

i've only tried 2 strains so my opinion is quite limited.

bali - my fav, more sedative. like a mild percocet buzz

indo - nice, more energetic than bali (but supposedly less energetic than thai, other strains). like a mild vicodin buzz, maybe a little more stimulating

That's not a bad price for non-bulk!

I've found that you can pay more for kratom, but you never get your money's
worth with the "super potent" strains, powders, extracts, etc.

I just buy whatever's cheap an plentiful - usually Bali.

5ml. $60 (Full Spectrum)
10-15 drops is pretty strong for me. Makes the day breezier.
Never knew there where different strains though.
Maybe someone knows or how do I find out?

How many doses do you get from 5mls? Sounds like a pretty expensive dose, but I guess

We've gone through bottles and bottles and I have to say, I've never measured out the drops.

My approximate guess would be 200-225 drops. And 10-15 being a strong dose (but not too strong)

Next ones getting counted.

Are There Different Types Of Kratom?
There are a few different types of tree and different sorts of kratom you will typically come across. It can be confusing at first but there are only a few different types really. Some vendors may sell 'super enhanced' strains or extracts which will not always live up to the name. If you buy a 15x kratom resin it won't really be 15 times more potent than the leaf. Typically it will be closer to 4 times the strength.
Relating to where the kratom is grown there is:
* Indonesian
* Malaysian
* Thai
* Bali
Relating to the colour of the stems or veins running through the leaf:
* Red Vein
* Green Vein
Relating to the grade of leaves used:
* Commercial
* Premium
* Super
* Enhanced
One kratom tree can produce both red and white vein leaves. Most kratom on the market appears to be of Indonesian origin. The 'grade' of kratom leaves used is the prevailing factor in determining strength and of course, cost of. Typically the grades will be listed as above, ranging from 'commercial' (the weakest) up to 'enhanced' (the strongest).
As mentioned elsewhere, the quality of kratom will vary depending on where you order it from, and sometimes even from batch to batch. The key is to find a quality, consistent vendor.

I think a tincture is just an alcohol extract that hasn't been fully evaporated. Made with something like everclear, and shaken 4 times a day for however long. I'm not well versed on this method but a search would definitely turn up some results

I got the lowdown from my girl who orders the stuff and I just found out is somewhat of a pro in the Kratom world. (actually a member of www.thekratomforum.com ).

Best one to my woman is Thai, but it's all personal preference she says.
I just drink up and don't ask questions. Thankfully due to this thread and my girl I've become better informed.

It's interesting to hear the effects of people who do it recreationally as opposed to those using it as a step down from opiates (i.e. my girl). She takes it to feel "normal". I take it to feel euphoric. ;-)
She's pretty serious about the widespread uproar of enthusiasts who very well may get this outlawed in Illinois just like salvia d. is now, among others. Although things of this nature will take its course.

So has anyone quit opiates with kratom, then quit the kratom with little to no withdrawal? Has anyone completed a successful taper? Or is this just a legal replacement for the opiate habit?

Yes, to your first question. And yes to the second, there are many.

As far as being a legal replacement it could definitely go both ways.
I have damn good will power when it comes to kratom, so for me I guess you could say it's a legal replacement.

But for people coming off serious opiate addictions it's more like the lesser of two evils.
Not just a replacement.

Of course many have overcome norcos, methadone, and even the big H by means of kratom....just to be stuck on kratom now.

But it does work for the person who uses it wisely.
Just depends on the individual.

i honestly believe it depends on the person.... some can sweat it out and roll on with their lives.. some the cravings and symptoms last for weeks and months on end... eventually one must say... i own this.. does not own me... good luck to all that have demons to face...

I used to a strong refined (to mitragynine and 7-ho-m) to help with bad pod w/d's.

It was....expensive.

Took me about 500mg to catch a little buzz, at the time, with it. And about 200mg of so would keep me from being dope sick.

If the price would come down, I could see 7-ho-m being a recreational substance just like opiate pills.

Edit: please note I had a MASSIVE tolerance at that time. Don't use my numbers to base a dosage off of.......

i know people who have gone from heavy opiate addictions (oxy, methadone, hydro, etc.) or heroin to kratom with little to no discomfort. I also know people who have stepped down from kratom with minimal issues. They have the willpower of a saint, however. I'd recommend that anyone using it for opiate withdrawal stick to plain leaf. No extracts.

I used it to step down from a bad oxy habit. I went from oxy to suboxone to hydrocodone to kratom. There was definitely some discomfort. Day 1 through 3 is the worst. I don't care how much ktom or suboxone you're on, stepping down from oxy is like hell on Earth for the first 3 days.

Kratom is like the lesser of two evils for me. When I was on oxy and hydro, I was a mess. The only thing standing between me and felony jail time was that first order of kratom I made. I'm one of those people that cries when I get pulled over because I'm so scared. Yet under the influence of opiates, I had no qualms about theft or forgery.
None. It didn't matter. In fact, I used to surmise that if I went all out and got as fucked up as I could before I got arrested, it would last long enough to find someone to bail me out. it's sad to think of my life pre-kratom because I was a shell of a person. I would have died without it for sure. Before I quit opiates for good I spent a week from hell in the hospital with acetaminophen-induced hepatitis. I couldn't stop no matter how hard I tried or how much I wanted to. I could not do it. No amount of will power or positive thinking (sorry love lol) would have saved me had kratom not entered my life.

The Truth has helped me cut my intake in half. It has been a blessing to say the least. I don't want to take it anymore. I'm in my late twenties and thinking of the future. I don't want to deal with quitting anything if and when I ever have a family. I want to be long gone and way past substances before even entertaining the idea of reproduction.

Well, I started pills to wean off pods, and kratom to get off pills.
That was about three or four years ago, and I'm still on the kratom. Honestly, I've
never tried quitting for longer than, say, half of a day... by the time lunchtime rolls
around, I'm in the bag.

Problem is, I just don't have a week to dedicate to feeling like warmed over shit. I
interact with people constantly at work, and not being on my toes or being in a
bad mood / antsy / depressed / etc., for a week could be the end of a career,
especially as I tend to get rude during WD's

At least it's legal for the time being, at least... I keep saying I'll quit. Hasn't happened
yet. Someday?
