stb liquid lye?

so, i'm sure this has been asked before but how would one use liquid lye on just an stb (like this http://forums.mycotopia.net/dmt-spic...-easy-stb.html (Clean & Easy STB) ) which is explained in respect to the powder kind. aka how does liquid compare (in amount) to the powdered kind added to water. and also what are optimal phs at each point in the proccess?

Does your liquid contain other chemicals besides lye? The only sodium hydroxide solution I have ever seen has other things also like sodium hypochlorite and other cleaners...

Liquid drain cleaners do have impurities so it is suggested to stick with the pure and dry products like Roto and Roebic drain openers.
Follow the tek exactly.

yeah, from what i understand though the one i have is like just a NaOH and water solution, but that makes things far more complicated to figure out on an amount standpoint, so the new plan is just to buy the other form, since it's pretty inexpensive anyway. thanks for the input. also, i'm wondering, if one were basically following lazyman's tek, would it be wise to use ph papers? i mean the obvious answer would be yes, but are they really that effective indicators?

I don't think pH papers are necessary, just try a gram of lye per gram of bark.

They're not necessary, but damn if they don't help when you run into problems.

You can use the liquid as long as it is just the lye and water.

It's not that complicated to figure out the quantity change.
Just up the lye a little bit, the extra water won't hurt anything.

Just make sure it is only lye and water..

yeah, i'm considering holding off on the ph papers maybe until i start experimenting a bit more, but what's everyone's opinion on ways to smoke it? do you think the whole concept of the machine could work on a regular bubbler by putting brillo into the bowl?

Do the Machine or a crack pipe. If you can find this little 3-tiered pipe, get that, but I've never seen a pic of one online. You'll recognize it in the headshop - it just looks like it's for DMT.

Yeah those freebase pipes from your local headshop work very well. They kind of look like a snowman but they have three layers for screens in the bowl head. They do a good job of collecting DMT resin also, and you can get quite the unexpected blastoff from it.
