First MHRB extraction

Well to start things off a friend of mine was able to run into someone at a music festival with some nice orange shardy DMT. My friend really enjoyed his travels with this magical substance.

So shortly after my friend was astonished to get home and see the mail man had delivered everything he needed to do a MHRB extraction. What a thoughtful mail carrier this gentlemen must be....

The TEK used was 1 gram MHRB powder to 1 gram lye to about 15mL water. Let sit, absorb, "shake" for about an hour. Add about 1 mL naptha per gram MHRB/ "shake" stir and repeat finally extracting w/ turkey baster and pop in freezer. No evap done on the Naptha.

Starting small - 50 grams MHRB was used as well as the necessary lye, water and naptha. The next day the jar was pulled from the freezer and the crystals collected. Not much at all. Okay, let's step it up. 300 more G and combined the previous 50 grams. so a batch of 350 G MHRB is now in the process. Pulled everything out this morning and my friend came out with 1 gram DMT. Wash in ammonia and let out to dry / evaporate.

This DMT is LIGHT yellow / almost white. Is this normal / ok? Most things I've read seem to indicate the end product should be more yellow / orange until a recrystallization is done then the product will be closer to white. This looks almost nothing like the stuff my friend found at a festival. But we realize there are different methods of extraction. I plan on trying this later after dinner.

Now, more naptha has been added to that previous batch of 350 G MHRB for a 2nd pull. Only 2 hours later and the crystals are already forming in the jars in the freezer. I'll probably try another 2 or so pulls off this same batch. Hoping to pull 2-3 grams total from this 350G MHRB.

Thanks in advance for any input on this or for just taking the time to read. Hopefully someone can assist w/ the color of this DMT and assure me it is fine. Here are a few somewhat crappy photos. This stuff is not the easiest to photograph w/ the camera I have.

Good job, It should be white if its pure, the yellow to orange is plant fats. If you clean it up with an ammonia wash or a hexane recrytalization it will be more white. I dont bother personally, Its all good to me.

Yeah this was whitish before my friend even ran amonia through it. He might not even bother with that any more. Not bad for a first round, then. As long as white always = more pure. At first I got nervous and thought the lye went back into granular form and that is what he extracted.

Just checked the jars in the freezer. These look more yellowish. I am going to assume the more pulls you do on the same product the less pure it will turn out.

It will definitely get more yellow with each subsequent pull, enjoy. The nonpolar solvent will not pull any NaOH unless you see a purple blob come out.

Well my friend took the DMT out of the jars from the 2nd pull from the freezer. The difference is night and day from the 1st batch. This stuff is MUCH more yellow. About 1/2 - 3/4 of a gram this time around.

My pet iguana decided to try a small portion of the first batch to ensure it was alright. He approves.

That's funny, a few years ago people were wondering about their extractions being too dark and not white enough.
It sounds like you did the extraction and ammonia wash just right.
I wouldn't wash subsequent pulls though, just keep them as the raw dogs.
A couple of pulls with toluene after that, polar washed with calcium carbonate and evaped.

Smaller extractions tend to come out a bit whiter with freezer separation. When a large amount is done, then lots more color often comes out, as well as a larger amount of DMT.

looks like you did a fine job there prs! i wouldn't worry about a little yellow in the final product, it'll work just fine.

Great job, man...it's not so unusual to get lighter colored spice like that, especially when freeze-precipitating; this seems to yield a 'cleaner' looking material. Evaporation tends to lend itself to producing more colorful material. Also the mimosa may be really 'clean' in that it isn't very fatty, etc...

It's all good though, I like to have a few different batches on hand for variety, 'the spice of life', no? Yellow spice is beautiful - orange spice is beautiful - it's just all good bro. Good work!!!

First post here, high all!

Getting a ton of great info and getting about ready to try my first simply tek (waiting on the mailman). I'll be sure to post on my findings. Not too much of a novice in these types of things but never tried spice.

you can re-crystalize it
just dissolve it on the solvent wich it´s soluble when this solvent is warm/little hot and then put it on a ice bath...the crystals will crystalize and impurities not
So you can use a filter to separate it, washing with cold sovent which it isn´t soluble, just to let the impurities go down ^^
