![]() | Cacti brew mixed with datura leaves
Hi, This is my first post here and I'd like to ask a question of importance. I have read in many sources of shamans in South America using dry datura leaves in their brew of cacti. I'd like to know if any SWIY have tried this kind of brewed mix and could share his experience and thoughts. Please, save me from messages in the form of "Say no to datura", I don't buythat shit. If there are some inexperienced users who avoid the risks and harm themselves or others it's a shame, but it is their problem and lesson to be taken for mistreated use and abuse. Careful doses, pre-study and good guidance has made datura valuable teacher for o' seekers of cosmic knowledge, treat it with great respect. So please, only mature and experienced answers. Thank you, P. |

I've yet to try it myself, but a lot of people have been talking about using datura stramonium seeds to potentiate cactus. They're using sub-threshold doses like three to six seeds and specifically stramonium because the main alkaloid is hyoscamine. The South Americans are likely using brugamansia, which I think is mostly scopalamine, and probably in much larger doses. I wouldn't touch any of it except from a standardized extract that I could use to work my way up from a tiny dose. |

Welcome to Mycotopia. I don't know that I would try any additives until very famililar w/ cactus tea from various species and then start real small w/ any Datura additives. Most will tell you to avoid it at all costs, but there are a few here who do seek w/ it. Start low as I have heard from these individauls that there is a lot of variability in the alk contents of seeds and flowers so it might only have a slight effect. Important to note that those here that use Datura are few and one of those that does only does so w/ his GF there w/ a stun gun and says that repeated uses of Datura have had a negative impact on his vision. Forewarned is Forearmed.
