Does this look good ?

This is my first pull from following this tek

It has been in the freezer for only 30 minutes but already yellow residue has collected at the bottom. Does this look normal ?

It has been about 3 hours this tray has been in the freezer. More of the extraction has crashed out of the solution as you can see. Should I use a syringe and suck the liquid up and evaperate the rest or wait a little longer ? More importantly, is this looking good so far ???

you could let it evap,or pour/siphon off any remaining solvent.

Fan fucking tastic !!!

My first and last attempt didn't go to well and resulted in zero yeild from about 125 g of mhrb. This time I have used 250 g and the extraction felt and went a lot more smooth due to the lessons I learned from my failed attempt.

I have another tray with twice as much solution in the freezer too but I will check that later tonight. I also have another pull to do but I am letting it sit for a few hours as it is not separating as fast as previous pulls.

This is the combined 2nd and 3rd pull that seems to be drying fine.

This is the 1st pull, even though there was less solvent to dry and less residue it doesn't seem to be doing as well. Am I just being impatient or do you think something like impurities are stopping the evaperation ?

This is the combined 4th and 5th pull that that is still evaperating ready for the freeze Precipitation.

put some NP solvent in those and collect all the spice, then strain through a mr.coffee drip coffee filter!!! Not a minolta/#4 filter.

I used a wide mouth Kerr's jar and the NP goes in the jar while the coffee filter can be put in the mouth and the ring part of the lid can secure it.

The filters dry nicely and the spice wont stick unless it's super slimy/oily.

Thanks guys, this is a huge success compared to my 1st attempt a few weeks ago.

Just one thing ... The tray with the "powder" in seems to have become even more dryer over night which is good but the other tray seems to have not changed as you can see (this is 7 hours of slep later)

Is this due to me playing around with it while it was evaperating and so the surface area becomeing alot smaller by the crystals become more packed together, I just dont know but it doesn't seem to be turning to powder very quickly or at all ??? The other tray looks awsome

Is it normal for it to stay a little waxy/oily or will this dry out with a little more time ? I am expecting bone dry powder which I have a small amount off stashed away that I got from somewhere else. My extraction is the same colour but still not a powder.

Looks good.

If it is oily or waxy after a week or so then I wouldn't expect much change.
Leaving it out in the open without a fan maybe a good idea if you want to try drying it further.

FOAF has never had problems with waxy spice other than the taste if burnt.

Sorry, I should stop being a whinning impatient newb. After 30 minutes with a fan blowing on the trays from across the room the goo in the tray with less progress and completely dried to a powder

This was oily goo 30 minutes ago. Less than 30 min of a gentle breeze from a fan achieved better results than the trays sitting for 24 hrs room temperture with very little air flow.

Thanks Frequency. When it comes to measurements it's abit of a problem becuase I don't own any scales of any type and so the whole process was done by eye and guesstimates.

I uesed roughly 250 grams of powdered mhrb and the yeild so far of bone dry fine yellow powder is roughly 1.5 grams but I don't have a lot of experience with this so I am purely guesstimating.

I still have 2 pulls to evaperate which should yeild at the very least 0.5 grams and I am going to do another two pulls from my jug of slippery bark sludge in a few days.

Very happy with the results so far and the final product looks exacly how I would have imagined it

(pull 1 2 & 3 combined, approx 1.5g)

Hell yeah! Looks about right too for yellow/tan spice. About 2 grams from what I can see. Fantastic job!

And yeah, go splurge on a pyrex baking dish. No sense in scraping up plastic in with your spice. It tastes foul enough when smoked! lol. I actually don't mind the taste much, but the after-smell in the room is awful.

Hi again Raz,

To clean that up quickly and efficiently you can put it into a coffee filter and pour over household ammonia which you can get at the paint shop. Will get rid of most of that yellow colour and make it alot more pleasing to smoke. Try chilling the ammonia in the freezer first and watch the fumes they make you cough like a bitch.

Tried some earlier, definatly potent and will be launching myself this weekend

Not going to do a wash because I don't have a problem with the taste at all but I may wash later pulls because they seem to be more orange than yellow and have a stronger smell of "dmt".
