![]() ![]() ![]() | beavertail cactus!
i was out on a hike in the local canyon looking for cacti to add to my indoor garden. although i live in a high desert, cactus isnt the most common thing out here. more likely to find sagebrush and bristlecones. well, as luck would have it, we found hundreds of beavertail cactus! apparently these contain a small percentage of mescaline (.01%) how does this compare with san pedro? i wanna harvest a good chunk to perpetuate and consume. any experiences with this species here? oh, and i have HUNDREDS of seeds. ill trade some out for prints, if anyone is interested. ill post pics tomorrow!

i was planning on extracting it... i dont even eat mushrooms plain. mostly cause i enjoy tinkering lol. ill prob just follow a standard extraction tek. ill post my findings afterwards. my girlfriend found a little bit about it on mother earth news site but thats about it. apparently its a good eat but not strong enough to trip off of. a local cactus grower said its an interesting trip so i gotta try... EDIT: i found on another site that the beavertails with a purplish tint contain 1% alkaloids. we found several "clusters" of the cactus with different colored flowers and flesh colorations. the largest of these had purple streaks coming from the base to the middle of the pads. i assumed it was b/c of age... ill extract from this "strain" or whatever cactus people call em. i found pounds and pounds of em so maybe theres hope. regardless, i now have a weekend project to accomplish while my jars are incubating!!
