I'm serious... My mom takes sumatriptan (Imitrex)...look at the bottom of this list of tryptamines : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tryptamine... My question is, should I turn her in?

It seems that I cannot download a picture of a Sumatriptan molecule and a DMT molecule. Bloody computers! ![]() They are identicle apart from a Sulfonamide molecule hanging off the five position on the benzene ring.

There's quite a few tryptamines that are used in the treatment of migraines like sumatriptin (Imitrex). It's even over-the-counter in the UK under the brand name Imigran. It's around $10 a dose there, more expensive over here. I bet your mom's RX runs around $500/month before insurance takes care of most of it. Rizatriptan is pretty close to DMT as well. Also zolmitriptan and almotriptan contain a tryptamine molecular skeleton with 2 methyl groups attached to the amino, like DMT. They are all serotonin receptor agonists which bind to B1 and D1 5HT receptors located inside blood vessels in your head. They inhibit the release of calcitonin gene-related peptides, which (in elevated levels) many researches believe are responsible for migraines and cluster headaches. Nice thread Cala

not too surprising that the government would allow the sale of one drug, say something like aderall or marinol (sp?) even though it almost exactly like or even exactly like something that is illegal otherwise. the Gov and pharm companies are the new drug dealers in town, and you better not be trying to move in on their turf, remember they have guns, and will use them to protect their "turf" ps- i cleaned up this thread a bit no more off topic hypothetical sythn stuff please
