![]() | Thank you dial8 !!! dixieland strain
Well unfortunately foaf had burnt out his hdd just as 'topia was upgrading so all the original pics may be lost. On the good news I have the last pics he sent of the Dixieland tray. You're gonna love these folks. These are all pics of the same Dixieland tray just different views. It won't stop pinning as you can see. I'll add the info for the additives I used in the brf/verm cakes used in this tray later but I have to get ready for work now. Thank you dial8 once again for finding this strain and for sharing!

Sorry to not be around that much lately, guys. You are very welcome, zap. I am sooo excited about these little babies. I think you are the first to post pics other than my self of the dixielands. Yar, they are pretty damn potent. Two dry grams is all foaf said he wanted....all the leaves were dripping out of the trees! Last edited by dial8; 10-25-05 at 12:10. |

Well, waylit, they are of course, an I know you know, simply cubs. I was jogging one day and I looked over my shoulder at an on coming car and as I was turning my head back around I caught a glimpse of some shrroms in a field. i had to go check them out. Low and behold....wow. So I jumped the fence and snatched em up real quick. Then I called the owner told him I was doing some fire ant research and asked permission to be on his property. The next few hunts I found some wrather light colored fruits growing in hay/cow poop so I printed them. I am now working with the 8th or 9th generation from that one print. Every time I would pick a few of the healthiest and lightest colored and print those. Ofcourse the name merely reflects location and that is the deep south east of the Mississippi river.

That's cool bro, thx for the history on Dixie. I'm glad you're gettin' her around. Great pictures too.

Thanks, you guys. They are nice little shrooms. I had been looking for shrooms for a couple of years. I mean every cow field I passed I would swerve and nearly wreck trying to catch a glimpse of some. A friend of mine came up from Bonaroo with some and we had a damn good time. I thought that the ones she brought were homegrown so I started doing some research which led me to this wonderful site. Two days after finding this site and buying Paul Stamets book I found these shrooms. I HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR TWO YEARS, PEOPLE! I'm not much of one for divine intervention or destiny or things like that, but the day I found these I was thanking the mighty shroom gods while rolling around in a cow feild. And to think, they were about 5 minutes from my front door. It really was magical! |

I think shobi's foaf did multispore, but I do not know for sure. The straw log above is a multispore project by my foaf. Quote:

She uses Latchables because they have a wide flat lip and seat together better than tubs with a rounded lip. The cubie tubs she spray paints most of the bottom tub with flat black spray paint (its says it works on plastic). The pan tubs are left clear. She takes a 1/4 drill bit and heats up the bottom end (no grooves) and pushes it through the tub lip and makes a matching hole in the other tub. Then she uses cable ties as hinges, The cable ties are the 8" 50lb Leviton brand and can be found along with the tubs and spray paint at wally world. She uses the tubs as is and just opens and fans them to exchange air. Optionally, you can cut holes in the sides of the tubs and stuff with polyfil, cover with tyvek. You can also automate air exchange with aquarium pumps, etc. | |

I use the tubs too, with tyvek holes and an airpump once pinning starts. I like 15 qt. sized. I just use duct tape on the bottoms but the paint is a much better idea. And fanning makes it really great because no electrical use. I'm going to put my dixies in a dub tub (or whatever they are called) because it looks like a great strain on Shobi's friends tubs. |
