Glad to see your g13 are doing well siam, obviously your getting some mixed opinions on whether your plants will switch into flowering before its finished with the vegetative growth.... In my opinion your plants will grow fine in your climate, if i were in your situation i might consider starting my plants indoors in the future, but like hip said, why grow indoors when you have perfectly good sunlight for free Im interested to see how they turn out, im sure they will reach a respectable size before flowering

yes he would surely be a happy camper if his plants got only 2-3 ft and start flowering, that will be more than enough for him since its for personal use. i also read thru this and i have consider growing the first stage of 30 days indoor with 2 flor 24hrs then transfer outside where it will get the 12/12. but for the time being i want to see how this one will end up. also this g13 does have a strong indica/afga influence peace siam |

beautiful!! just make sure to keep the flourescent tube bulbs NO MORE than 6cm away from the foliage...any further away than that and they start to lose their effect causing the plants to stretch immensely, toward the light source. in conclusion: -Flourescents stay cool, but keep fans going on your indoor plants at all times to keep foliage rustled and prevent burning if the leaves touch the bulbs in case they are hot. -Keep the bulbs VERY VERY close to the plant's tops...again, 6cm is about as far as you want to go...flours. dont penetrate the plant's canopy very deep at all, so use some supplemental light on the sides to promote lateral branching, early on... once put outside, those small side laterals with a head start will become main-tops of their own, or at least yield something significant in the end.. if your friend has the time, veg your mostly indica/indicas at least 1 month indoor, under a photoperiod of 24/0 then top at the 4th to 5th node, veg indoor 2-4 more weeks, or until the now expose lower arms have a chance to catch up and form an even canopy, then xplant outdoor to 12/12 (or 13/11, 11/13, 14/10, dont matter) for the remainder of their short-sweet lives.. be well siamjim and best wishes to you and yours grow on |

I would also point out when you first move plants started under floros outside to first move them to a shady area with no direct sun shine for the first few days and graduly move them to brighter sun-lit area so the leaves are not burned by the intence sunlight The plant will tell you when it's ready i.e. fan leaves turned toward the sun. or turned away or wilted means I'm too hot JacSprat |

indeed!!! excellent post ![]() some refer to this as hardening-off... the true definition of hardening-off also pertains to gradually bringing them outside over a period of time, to acclimate them to the brave new world. think: Cold, Storms, Winds, and as so righteously pointed out above by jac, our good friend mr. sun... siam's friend should be grateful to live in such a beautiful paradise, and hasnt to worry about most of these things, but DEFINITELY the sun....great post man. green thumbs, all be well |

you know these g13 are getting bigger than he wanted, maybe he should look into smaller strain like LR x ???? , this makes me wonder on potency. of course it depends on the strain but how about the light intensity. does it make a difference in potency if a plant was in direct sun light or semi shaded? peace siam |

potency consists of a series of variables, nutrition, light, darkness, temps, and such. closeup pics of where the stem of the leaves meets the center stalk might give a better sexing idea..... i doubt you will be able to sex them right now though. Looking good man, that g13 will make you happy siam.

Hay siam, two things i look for when sexing my plants. If sure same stock male plants will grow taller and longer space between branches, when outdoors If they all get the same amout of light. Also look at the node. usually but not always the node will get bigger and more pronounced then male. also the brack at the node will grow longer with females. Not always , but i usually do well sexing my young plants when from seed. It's easy to see the differnce when growing all the same strain. My friends ask me to sex theirs for them and they keep asking me year to year! |

Those are the pre-flowers the flowering stage hasn't really started yet. (The pre-flowers are single flowers an really only help tell the sex and are not where the buds form) The buds will form on the branchs growing out from the main stem below where you topped it. (Still got a ways to go.) I'd water it with a lil manure tea,if the leaves are a pale green. it's hard to tell if it needs any in the sun lite. your female may seam small compared to the others because their males. the males grow a lil faster and taller so they can spread pollen farther kinda like the pollen at the top of a corn stalk. Just give it more time. Now that you know which one is female you can devote more attention to her Your first biggest and best seed plants usually are males. We all go through this. Remember patience. This is a learning experince, your not gonna be a pro your first time out. How big is your flower pot now? let those side branches get a few inches long and transfer to a 5 gal. container or hole in ground. I've gottin three ounces of dry bud in a three gal. container under a 1000 watt HPS lite start to finnish before using fox farm ocean forrest and moracizzal fungi. The strain was mighty-mite from kind seed. |

ok, you'll need to move it , exactly where depends but you want to ensure that no winds carry the pollen so in another room or on the other side of the house, etc. if you must keep them close, you can place loose bags over the male flowers to trap the pollen. you should move shortly after you see the first pollen sac, they can open quick and even just one, if the wind catches can seed many females so better safe than sorry.

so here it is after a week or so, the same female, he decided to rid the males and leaving just all female some of which will be use to cross with LR... wonder how much longer he will need to wait to start taking cuttings? also he has some 100% extract fertilizer it reads 8-24-24, would it be ok to use this to help with flowering. peace siam |

Thats some high power ferts. there. Use it sparingly at first when you get into the second week of flowering. (I'd personal stick with the guano and worm castings, better tasting herb) it's about time for a bigger container to. 3 to 5 gal. or hole in ground. you'll need a light if your gonna take cuttings. you can take a cutting now from one of the longer branches but I'd wait a couple weeks. Every time the plant is topped or cut ,it sets it back a week or two which is bad because of your short veg. period in your case because of the amount of day light 13/11. You don't want to cut from your main bud producing branches or the smallest. Try taking a cutting from an area that is too crouded to help with letting light in in the future. A FOAF when growing inside would prun his plants so each one would have four main branches evenly spaced. so the plant would be lighted uniformly. |
